So applications like Trean still use the Datatree but the Datatree can 
no longer be used for shares (Turba, Mnemo, etc..) ?


Maybe the UPGRADING file should read:

DataTree support for shares has been removed.


No, because Trean has not yet seen a release. ALL datatree support in released H4 code will be removed.
