[horde] Updating to Horde 4 but retaining Horde Groupware Webmail Edition 1.2.9 configuration

Hello,

can somebody give me some pointers how to upgrade to Horde 4 but  
retaining the H GWE 1.2.9 config?

I did the commands

    pear channel-discover pear.horde.org
    pear install horde/horde_role-beta
    pear run-scripts horde/horde_role

as advised in a test directory, something is happening and installing,  
but no files turn up in the directory I configured.

How can I start from scratch again?
