Hmm,
not working with H4 yet, but taking on debugging on saslauthd and take looks into the logs (i.e. auth.log mail.log etc. - or start saslauthd on your console in foreground) to see what saslauthd get for credentials from horde. See man saslauthd for flag docs and ps afux |grep saslauthd for the flags your system is using for saslauthd.

To try out if your saslauthd is working properly and what type / format of credentials it expects for proper logins you might try to test cyrus login with cyrus' "imtest" tool (and look at the saslauthd logging output with debugging enabled on saslauthd as described above).

Depending from your current or new cyrus and saslauthd setup you might have to reconfigure your cyrus / imp backend to properly give over login credentials.
