The commit was only pushed half an hour after you clicked on it so the  
link was not working at the time you tried to use it while the scripts  
on Jan's side already knew what the commit/blob ids would be.

I don't think this can be easily helped at the moment as the release  
steps (which includes the mailing) usually happen in one go while the  
push of the commit happens somewhat later. I'm pretty certain that Jan  
is already doing his best with balancing speed and caution necessary  
during the release process ;)
