[horde] New user LDAP attribute mail not created

Hello;

I'm using Horde Groupware Webmail Edition 4.0.2. Upgrading from v1.0.2

I'm trying to figure out how users attributes in LDAP get created and how to
set automatically the "mail_from" in IMP.

My preferences backend is now in MYSQL but previously was in LDAP. I know I
can't use LDAP for preferences but I want, at least,  that when creating a
new user the "mail" attribute in LDAP to be set. Then I could use the hooks
I had in my old version. Currently this attribute is not filled when I
create a new user.

I don't know if this is the proper way to do things. I'm open to
suggestions.
I searched a lot and I found nothing on the matter. How is everybody else
doing it?
