It is not that easy.  Fixing the Mailbox UI will be easy enough - we  
just need to add the Edit as New dialog to the button dropdown (since  
the action already exists in the context menu).

But for the message popup screen, an entire handler needs to be  
written, similar to the existing reply and forward handlers.  This is  
not a trivial task.
