[horde] How to upgrade - was: Horde 5.0.0alpha1

Ok, now I am running php 5.3.8. The problems seems to be the same. I 
just found out that changing the preferred_state via...

   /srv/www/horde/pear/pear -c /srv/www/horde/pear.conf config-set \ 
preferred_state alpha

...is working because I can see the alpha, update with a...

   /srv/www/horde/pear/pear -c /srv/www/horde/pear.conf list-upgrades

Looks good so far (but it would changed to stat alpha for every channel):

[...]
pear.horde.org horde     4.0.15 (stable) 5.0.0alpha1 (alpha) 3235kB
[...]

But surprise ...upgrade -a -B -c horde... still fails with "horde/horde 
is already installed and is the same as the released version 4.0.15".

A "pear clean-cache" did not change that.

Any ideas? Thank you very much!
