[horde] Can't update modules in separate install: errors with libtool

I am trying to upgrade my horde modules with:

/var/www/horde4/pear/pear -c /var/www/horde4/pear.conf upgrade-all

and some modules fail on me, blocking other updates as well. I'm getting
this for instance:
