Hi,
please check from you system where Horde is installe if you get back a
response from the Google weather API by sending the following string:
http://www.google.com/ig/api?weather=Stollberg%20Germany&hl=en
if you get back valid XML data, you the connection of Gaooles API is ok. I
had a last time a problem with the XML parser of my system in fact of an
update what was wrong.
tht
Frank

Subject: [horde] Fatal error in service Weather
Hi,
I have a Horde 4 install that has worked flawlessly for more than one year.
I have a weather widget on my portal page, and it stopped working today.
When I login, I get a fatal error, "String could not be parsed as XML". I
get the following in syslog:
Aug 24 14:21:16 jupiter HORDE: [horde] PHP ERROR:
SimpleXMLElement::__construct(): Entity: line 1: parser error : Start tag
expected, '<' not found [pid 11459 on line 268 of
"/usr/share/php/Horde/Service/Weather/Google.php"]
Aug 24 14:21:16 jupiter HORDE: [horde] PHP ERROR:
SimpleXMLElement::__construct(): Unsupported API [pid 11459 on line 268 of
"/usr/share/php/Horde/Service/Weather/Google.php"]
Aug 24 14:21:16 jupiter HORDE: [horde] PHP ERROR:
SimpleXMLElement::__construct(): ^ [pid 11459 on line 268 of
"/usr/share/php/Horde/Service/Weather/Google.php"]
Aug 24 14:21:16 jupiter HORDE: [horde] String could not be parsed as XML
[pid
11459 on line 268 of "/usr/share/php/Horde/Service/Weather/Google.php"]
If I manually go to other pages than the portal, e.g. /kronolith, it works.
My system is Debian stable, up-to-date. The latest Horde 4 upgrade was some
weeks ago. I tried an upgrade today, but it didn't fix the bug. In
particular I have:
Horde_Service_Weather 1.1.2 stable
Horde_Xml_Element 1.0.1 stable
horde 4.0.15 stable
My questions:
-- does anybody have an idea why it broke today, and how to fix it?
-- as an emergency solution, how can I remove temporarily the weather widget
from my portal page, since I am locked out from it?
Thanks,
-Alexandre DENIS.
