I'm sorry, but I have to oppose this view.

IMHO MIchael is right. We always try to run the newest software and on
Solaris we always compile the code. I personally wouldn't like to move
our services to any Linux distro facing all the problems of old and
buggy packages.

Although I suppose I'll have to :-)
