[horde] Activesync - no logging and INBOX sync

I'm (now) running horde webmail 5.0.3, my inbox stopped syncing on  
Friday (11th).  Everything else is working as far as I can tell (ie  
other email folders are syncing, I can send email etc.).

"What's in the activesync logs?" I hear you say...  Well nothing, so I  
presumably have a problem there aswell.  For the record this is what  
my config is set to:

# grep -i activesync.*logging /var/www/html/horde/config/conf.php
$conf['activesync']['logging']['path'] = '/tmp/activesync/';
$conf['activesync']['logging']['type'] = 'custom';

# ls -ld /tmp/activesync/
drwxrwxr-x. 2 apache apache 4096 Jan  2 09:04 /tmp/activesync/

# ls -a /tmp/activesync/
.  ..

hopefully once the logging is working it will be become obvious what  
the syncing problem is.
