This depends on translation. In english, new event easily fits in the  
default sidebar width. I can imagine that in German, this won't fit  
(like in Dutch). You can fix (and optionally lock the preference) this  
by increasing the sidebar_width in horde/config/prefs.local.php:

$_prefs['sidebar_width']['value'] = 240;
$_prefs['sidebar_width']['locked'] = true;

You'll probably want to remove the sidebar_width from your preference  
storage, otherwise users that have a smaller value set will still see  
a garbled button.
