It's all fallen over again...

As connecting a 'clean' device with a nearly empty account and the  
logs hasn't helped with troubleshooting I'm running up a CentOS 6  
server with newer Cyrus to see if that makes any difference, but  
that's going to take a while... that's Cyrus 2.3.16 instead of 2.3.7.  
There have to be people out there with this working on Cyrus?
