You will find example code in turba/config/backends.php

I just wanted a simple ldap address book so I copied the code block  
that begins "* A personl LDAP address book" to a file named  
turba/config/backends.local.php. I changed the server values to match  
my LDAP server and then the address book showed up in turba.

I have very little understanding of LDAP (even simple address books).  
So, there may be much more that can be accomplished with this code.  
But, this should get you started.
