Sure, you can SEND an invitation from any client to anybody,  
regardless if it is "connected" to horde or not. I can tell you  
without a doubt that OL2010 absolutely does not support ActiveSync  
natively. That wasn't added until OL2013. If you are indeed synching  
2010 with Horde, it's not with ActiveSync.
