Jan, thanks for the info.  What is the preferred way for us to proceed 
on this?

Perhaps we can see if anyone else is interested in adding the "separate 
read-write LDAP servers" feature for turba so we can share the cost.

Everyone, those of you using LDAP for your Turba address books know one 
big advantage of using LDAP is it's very fast read speed.  This really 
helps the dynamic lookups for existing addresses in your address book 
when composing an email with IMP.  However, if we are hitting the same 
server for both reads & writes, we can loose some of the speed advantage 
when the LDAP server experiences a heavy write load.

So would anyone else be willing to help pay for adding the ability for 
turba to use a separate server for LDAP writes?
