[horde] GW 5.2.4: url parameter incorrect in portal blocks

Hi all,

I have found an issue with Horde Groupware 5.2.4 but as I'm a new user 
with a quirky install I'd like your opinions to find the issue.
Turba, nag and mneno work OK (also in Dynamic mode, see below), so I'm 
not sure if this issue is due to the way I had to install Horde on my 
shared hosting account (separate PEAR).
Interestingly, test.php indicates Horde Version as 5.2.3 while the 
portal displays 5.2.4.
First issue (perhaps the underlying problem): XML Parser support: No 
The libxml version is too old. libxml 2.7 or later is required.
==> Can I install my own version of libxml on a shared hosting acc, or 
do I need to ask the hoster? phpize is installed and my own separate 
pear installation also works...

Anyway, here's the main issue:
After logging in, the portal displays the blocks for kronolith and nag 
(among others). The issue shows when using the Basic mode* and hovering 
over the X next to an appointment to delete it or over the checkbox of 
tasks.
My installation is at domain.com/apps/gw, the url parameter of the 
portal blocks is as follows:
http%3A%2F%2Fdomain.com%2Fapps%2Fgw%2Fservices%2Fportal%2Fapps%2Fgw%2Fservices%2Fportal%2Findex.php
Notice the double appearance of apps/services/portal, clicking leads to 
a 404 of course.
Opening tasks or calendar and deleting or editing the entries there 
works without errors.

* When using the Dynamic mode, I can't use kronolith, it indicates 
"Error when communicating with the server." and there's "Loading 
calendars..." visible at the left side - must be some AJAX-related 
error, which is probably related to libxml 2.6.27 being too old...
