I have this

   $_prefs['purge_events']['value'] = 0;
   $_prefs['purge_events']['locked'] = true;
$prefGroups['logintasks']['suppress'] = true;

in kronolith/config/prefs.local.php

But the Maintenance Window popped up today at me.
