I have just find out that imp installation in Debian 12 uses "each" 
construct in PHP that was obsoleted in PHP 8.

Debian bug 1038441 was filled about this:

and the patch at:
https://github.com/horde/imp/commit/10535860c24f2677671fbbc0d97129c994225c37
is applicable.

cd /usr/share/horde/imp/
patch  -p1 < ~/10535860c24f2677671fbbc0d97129c994225c37.patch


There are also other bugs in Debian 12 installation of horde, so I guess my 
last advice should not be followed, unless you are willing to fix bugs there
(I am).
