[i18n] translation.php and compendium

Hi all,

i'm new to Horde's translation.php, just start to use it recently.
and confused at how to use compendium with translation.php

in po/README it just tell us how to create the compendium file
at first time, don't mention how to use it. And in gettext's manual
Chap6 it tells how to use compendium.

is there any one wanna to write a more detailed usage for translation.php?
