Fwd: failure notice

  i have imp setup that i can login and it will show me my messages 
  
  but as soon as i click to read the message  click to send a message or 
  anything, it logs me out and i get the login screen again 
  
  what is wrong and how do i fix it!!! 
  
  i'm running php4 on debian potato on apache-ssl server
