[imp] cannot connect imp!!!

Looks like you can't log into MySQL.  
Did you verify the username and password that you put into the 
imp/config/defaults.php3 exist in MySQL, and have access to the 
horde db within MysQL?

If you didn't do anything in MySQL yet, you can run the 
mysql_create.sql from horde/scripts/database to create the db and 
user for you.
