"no such host" in web server error log

New imp/horde installation on a Cobalt RAQ 4i with CMU Cyrus imapd server.
PHP
working with no problems.

Users attempt to login to webmail, but are returned to the login screen.
This
appears in the Apache error log:

<br>
<b>Warning</b>: No such host as foo.com (errflg=2) in
<b>/home/sites/site1/web/foo/horde/imp-2.0.10/lib/imp.lib</b> on line
<b>0</b><br>

Obviously, this is literal HTML markup, a strange thing to see in a web
server log.

I've looked at the imp.lib file, and don't see anyplace that would seem
appropriate for the hostname.

Pointers appreciated.
