imp problem

I recently installed IMP 2.2 on my freebsd box with apache and php4.04.
Everything is working great except any changes I make to
horde/config/menu.txt or html.php do not work.  I tried adding a menu item
to menu.txt and it does not appear an I then tried changing various colors
and options in html.php and those too did not work.  Do I need to do
anything after altering these files to make them work?  Any help would be
appreciated.  Thanks,
