An IMP vs SilkyMail show stopper -- is there a work around

We are currently using Silkymail to provide distant access to our IMAP
mail boxes. While Silkymail is okay, IMP has a much better look and
feel -- it also feel more responsive (which is a subjective valuation
as I don't have any benchmarks to compare).

Silkymail also uses a modified version of PHP 3.0.16 (done by Cyrusoft
just for Silkymail) and does a real clean connect to everybody's IMSP
addressbooks. IMP, on the other hand does not support IMSP, and though
it does support LDAP, address expansion does not appear to work via
LDAP. Is there a workaround? What I need is to be able to
authenticate, search, and have address expansion work on the search
result just like it does using the contact address list.

Is this just some pieces I'm missing, or a major enhancement request?
