[imp] imp 2.3.x vs TWIG

Thanks Chuck,

Here are some of the major things I am liking with TWIG: Granted I have been using it less than 2 weeks.

1. Calendar - Just simply for the fact that I don't have to tell the users that they have to use a fat client for this feature. I looked at the Kronolith portion on the horde site, but there is not much there at the point.

2. Todo List

3. Notes section.

4. The amount of user preferences - which will also come in imp 2.4

I haved used the demo site for imp 2.3, and the UI for imp is definitely better. Got errors with the Navigator button and I don't think the contacts and user preferences were available. Overall much better than 2.2.3. So am I going to attempt to try to use CVS and install the latest on my pc. If I can be smart enough to do this, since this is my first attempt at using CVS.

BTW - on the support page, http://www.horde.org/imp/2.2/supported.php, it lists Novell's Groupwise as being unsupported. I am currently using for my backend Groupwise 5.5 Enhancement pack and it is working. The only thing not working currently is the expunge portion. I hope for that to be fixed in the next service pack from Novell.

Thanks for replying to my message,

JB

What features are you looking for, specifically? I've never used TWIG beyond a
glance, so I'm not qualified myself to make a comparison.

Here's a quick shot at what's new:
- user-defined filters
- hierarchical folder tree
- many more user preferences
- spell checker that suggests alternatives, steps you through spelling errors
- searching of one or more mail folders

... that's the user side; I know that I'm missing some of the minor stuff, like
spam reporting, etc. From an admin side, the code is _much_ cleaner, more
moduler, better designed, probably faster, easier on the IMAP server (no
frames), it's easier to install (no phplib, no scripts, etc...).

That help?
