IMP 2.3.7-cvs FROM field not being set in message composition

Now this is just weird.

During message composition, the FROM field is correctly filled out based on 
the prefs that I gave it from the options screen.  No problems whatsoever 
sending the message either.  Except, the message is sent with only "@" in 
the FROM field.  I know this because I sent a test message to my hotmail 
account.

this is what sendmail is logging:

Feb  4 01:38:33 server sendmail[22141]: f146cXj22141: from=@, size=394, 
class=0, nrcpts=1, msgid=<981268713.3a7cf8e972d3b@www.paraka.com>, 
relay=nobody@localhost

I'm going to play around with compose.php to see if I can fix this myself.  
But, isn't this something that should have been caught already?
