found problem when using traditional Chinese characters in the filename as attachment

I just found a problem on my IMP server.  I got an email with an attachment
in it. It's a ms excel file but the file name is in traditional Chinese
character
set like this:
"經銷商報價(經銷商).xls"
I was not able to view or download it.  Therefore, I have done some
expirements. I believe the content of the file is not important that I
created
another ms word file using the same file name.  I then hit the same problem
again.

I am using MS IE 5.5 as my client.  And just upgraded to the newest
horde/imp version (1.2.4/2.2.4).  Was using cvs prior to this upgrade

In order to see if this problem is browser relevent, I tried Netscape 4.75
but with no luck.  Another test about English filenames indicate that
English
is fine, though.

I'd appreciate if somebody can give some hints.

By the way,  my box is running following software:
redhat linux 7.0
apache 1.3.14
php-4.0.3 ( the newest php upgrade from RedHat did cause problem, BTW)
mysql 3.23.22
