session timeout after a while

Hi

I have this wierd Problem: everything seems to be OK, you can see it here:

I used rpms so I donīt know if I have php.ini-dist or optimized. I tried to copy
a php.ini-dist to /etc but the same:
You can do someting, read some mails,  a while after which the login Screen is
shown. There is no exact time period.

Redhat 7
Apache 1.3.14-3
php-4.0.4pl1-5
mysql-3.23.32-1.7

Any help or ideas would be greatly apreciated
