Strange errors at view.php3

Hi.
On one of our clients, we just noticed that view.php3 is not correctly
working.
Its giving errors such as (see ERROR below)

Can someone please tell me what can cause this error.
The version of IMP is 2.2x (patched with a lot of stuff)
If you like to test, please log-in, click on a message to view it and
click on "Save as"

This could be a bug in php, though I'm blanking on the details of that one 
right now - I think it was a problem with 3.0.16, but I'm not positive. Also, 
there have been a couple of things fixed in view.php3 recently; unless you can 
tell us how your patched version differs from 2.2.5-cvs, it's going to be hard 
to track anything down...
