It was implemented as the requester of the feature described it. Return 
receipts aren't terribly standard, and I didn't find any documentation at the 
time; if someone who knows how they're supposed to work could look at our 
implementation and send in a patch, or at least say what's wrong and help test, 
I'll fix it.
