Setting up for mutiple servers and virtual domains

Ok, now another questions.

I have set IMP up on one of three servers for this client. Each server 
provides virtual hosting for more than 100 domains. We are trying to 
figure out the best way to allow each domain client to use IMP for their 
own email. The two solutions we have come up with are setting the server 
list to include the three "mail servers" and informing the clients which 
mail server they should select, or setting the server list to include 
every virtual domain, each configured for the appropriate mail server. 
The first is simple to implement and maintain, the second is simple to use.

Has anyone else setup something similar and/or have recommendations for 
how to do this? Is it possible for IMP to lookup the MX record for a 
given virtual domain and use the email server that is assigned to it, 
rather than requiring us to configure this for every domain?
