active_sessions table in mysql?

I am running a smp 750 Mhz i386 box with suse 7.1 2.4.0 with the latest
stable versions of imp/horde.

My question is, is the active_sessions table supposed to stop growing at
some point? The reason Im asking is mine never seems to do that. I have
about the same number of connections everyday, so Im thinking that perhaps
its not getting flushed?

Any info or help is appreaciated,
