login failure

Hello!

I cant login to my IMAP-Server and i cant login to any other POP3-server
with IMP. I get the standard-login-failure message from (Either you have
logged in incorrectly or your login has expired...).

/var/log/messages says:
May 10 04:27:40 mx IMP[671]: FAILED 198.168.19.102 to localhost:143 as xyz
May 10 04:27:40 mx imapd: LOGOUT, ip=[::ffff:127.0.0.1]

My System is Slackware 2.2.16 with Apache 1.3.14, qmail, courier-imap, mysql
3.22.32 and php4.0.3.pl1.

setup.php3 and test.php3 all work fine, everything is ok (phplib,
imap-support and so on).

The only problem is, that i cant login into any server. The local
IMAP-server works fine with Outlook Express and i also tried a POP3-Server
that works with Outlook.

I also tried to exchange the localhost-settings from "localhost" to the IP,
but there were the same errors.

I have no idea, what to try next. Has anybody a solution for this problem?
