IMP 2.2.5 -- odd login problem?

Hello.

I hope someone can offer advice here.  I've scoured the FAQ and the archived
mailing list messages, but I can't find reference to what appears to be a
peculiar problem.

We've been using IMP a long time.  Just set up a new server, all the latest
Apache and PHP stuff, etc...  (Solaris 8, running on Intel hardware.)

IMP seems to work fine, except for one thing -- incorrect logins!

If you do not have the login information correct, for whatever reason (bad
password, no such account, etc) it never times out like normal.  It...
just...  waits... for... response... forever...

If I try the demo server -- http://demo.horde.org/ -- using the same IMAP
server that is being used locally, it works fine!

I can't find any problems after running the test.php3 and so on...  I'm
baffled!

Help?
