[imp] auth question

They actually are of course. Otherwise you'd have to authenticate every time 
you reload the browser or follow a link.
But that doesn't solve the problem that some horde apps have to authenticate in 
a special way to their backend.

Take a look at Erics response for some interesting solutions.
