[imp] defaults.php3 permission denied !!

Well, no need to download the defaults.php3 . There is always a
defaults.php3.bak in the same folder. Use it if you have played around
with your original file.

But, the best way is to redo the configuration by running the setup.php3
from your browser. Remember to set the executable permission on setup.php3
before running the setup.

The second option is the one I will suggest as it will do away with your
initial problem of not allowing users to enter the server name. In one of
the configuration pages that setup.php3 presents, select allow users to
select server = false ( or something similar choice will appear - I don't
seem to remember, but it is a very clear choice )

I just struggled with this and I'd say that it's neither intuitive nor well
documented. The particular problems I encountered were
- My goal was to remove the user's ability to chose the server, so when I read
that server_list controls whether the user is shown a list of servers, I
instantly concluded that server_list should be false.
- Based on the name, I concluded that I should set server_list_hidden to true,
but the documentation for that parameter was a bit mysterious. It wasn't clear
to me whether enabling "a server list" means setting the server_list parameter
or setting up some internal server list for the system. It also wasn't clear to
me that the consequences of enabling a server list were desirable since the
documentation for "preferred" in servers.php explicitly states that it's only
useful when using the same servers.php on different computers and I'm not doing
that.
- After I managed to eliminate the server choice from the log in screen and
logged in again, I was quite surprised to find that all my preferences were
gone. I then realized that my identity to the system had changed from
"rbarnett" to "rbarnett@neuromics.com". I had no idea that I was altering
anything that fundamental.

Would collapsing the server_list and server_list_hidden parameters into a single
parameter that controls how the server is chosen provide the same functionality?
I think it would be easier to understand and document.

I've look en tried the examples:
$ strings /bin/tar | grep memory
memory exhausted
$ (LANG=fr; gettext tar "memory exhausted" )
memory exhausted

So It's doesn't work.. ( but /usr/share/locale/fr/LC_MESSAGES/imp.mo exist)

I've installed gettext from latest debian package (sparc architecture)

Anyone can help me with gettext?

Replace the function mysql_db_query with mysql_query and remove the first=

argument. Should work.
