Session Mgmt problem? 2.3.7 login fails.

I now suspect that I have a problem with my session management in 2.3.7.  It
is failing on session_start() in test.php3

"Warning: open(0/sess_3de595e3c457d4dcdca1bff8a047a84f, O_RDWR) failed: No
such file or directory (2) in /usr/share/horde/test.php on line 12"

I was wrong, IMP is hitting the mail server, info.log on the mail server
shows that I am logging in OK and am loging out immeadiately afterwards!

Could this be a session mgmt problem?  The INSTALL script only shows how to
set it up mysql, which I did.

I never get past horde/imp/login.php?reason=failed
