Maybe it got better, but the patches for UW to use maildir used to be _really_ 
buggy. Courier, on the other hand, has been pretty stable from the feedback 
I've seen on it, and is written for maildir in the first place. Which is why I 
suggested it.

You should be contacting the author of the uw-maildir patches for help, if you 
want to stick with it.
