With this patch, the user is shown when asking for the new password:

Okay, but it doesn't work for me (linux -> hpux), and I didn't expect it to. I yield to greater knowledge, though. Just out of curiosity, what return do you get from imaps when you telnet to it on that port?

Again, I have no experience with OpenBSD, but I was describing my experiences with the difference in installs between linux (DSO) and HPUX (static) and what it took to finally get imap-ssl to work again under linux.
