[imp] Scaling - how many logins per day are people supporting

I'll top post this for clarity.
We're using a Dual 400M E250 with 2G also and we're supporting 3000
unique users logging in per day, probably at least twice that if you
count each individual login. I reckon it could scale by a factor of
at least three. The same box runs the IMAP server and in fact due to
a lack of machines that same IMAP server is also serving about 6,500
unique users of normal mail clients per day (again you can at least
double that for the total number of logins).
The machine is on the ATM backbone and has a dedicated 100M link to
the file server which serves the mailboxes. In about a month we'll be
chucking out the ATM backbone in favour of a new gigabit backbone at
which point we expect this server to have a 100M link onto the
backbone and a 100M link to the fileserver and cope sufficiently well.

What about using JavaScript?
Put this in the input tag of the imp login form (2.3.7):
onchange="document.implogin.server.value=this.value+'.herald.ox.ac.uk'"

Subject: Re: [imp] smalls Attachments problem again
Perhaps there was some misunderstanding.
You probably use French as you language in imp? What does you locale on the
server imp runs on say? Type 'locale' in a shell.
If it says 'fr' after LC_NUMERIC you may type 'locale -c LC_NUMERIC'.
The first line of the output should give you the locale decimal point. How are
floating point values written in French? 0.5 or 0,5?
This floating point (or decimal point) character should be in the $localeinfo
variable.
Hope that helps,
Jan.
