In order to temporarily resolve my imap_sort problem
I have removed the following from mailbox.php
so that users will not experience this problem.
$new = imap_sort($imp['stream'], 0, 0, SE_UID, 'UNSEEN');
Any other suggestions on fixing this?

As a reminder I get the same results if I connect
to this account from the imp 2.3-DEVEL demo site.
