FWIW, php-4.0.7dev built with UWimap2001BETA on imp server , UW imapd and
/etc/cram-md5.pwd on mail server...
Works just fine.  Only thing I had to change was creating the cram-md5.pwd file,
which UW imapd recognizes by default.  If you're using an other imap daemon,
you'll need to check to see what it wants for CRAM-MD5 (e.g., cyrus or iplanet
or ?).
