Help, no luck with IMP 2.2.6 under Redhat

I wrote to the list last month with some strange errors under compose
and preferences in 2.2.5/1.2.5. Noone had an answer for me then so I
stayed with 2.2.4. Because of the security bulletins I'd dearly like to
upgrade to 2.2.6/1.2.6 but we are getting errors throughout the IMP
system (see the end of this message):
Linux webmail 2.4.2-2 #1 Sun Apr 8 20:41:30 EDT 2001 i686 unknown
(RedHat 7.1)
php-4.0.4pl1-9
postgresql-7.0.3-8
imp 2.2.6
horde 1.2.6
2.2.4/1.2.4 work like a champ on this system.
I'd appreciate any advice. You can email me and I'll summarize to the list.
Thanks,
Walter Moore
2.2.5 worked except that you could not access the preferences, and the
prefs and compose screens generated postgresql errors. now we get errors
and random logouts on every screen.
With 1.2.6/2.2.6 I see this as soon as I log in:
