Browser Window times out after Clicking Send

I am trying to resolve an issue whereby my browser window times out after 
clicking send in the compose window.  The problem only exists with large 
attachments.  It is the same problem I was having when initially adding 
attachments, but that was resolved by changing the post max size variable in 
the php.ini.  Is there perhaps another setting other than the post max size, 
and upload max filesize settings in the php.ini.  

Any help would be appreciated....
