lots of IMPs, but on database

We are starting to but IMP on our web+mail servers, but I would like them all 
to use the same database server (not as a type of database, but as a database 
server it self).
Is this posible? Can they live with the same database, or will I have to make 
a new database for each new IMP I install?

si podés usar PostgreSQL?
