[imp] Unable to login

I did configure servers.php.
I used the defaults for conf.php

when I set auth to imap I am able to login to horde, but not to imp (I get:
The page cannot be displayed). I am only able to
login to imp if I specify the web page ../imp/Login.php.

If I use sql auth I am not able to login at all
the auth setup in horde.php is:
$conf['auth']['params'] = array();
$conf['auth']['params']['server'] = 'localhost';
$conf['auth']['params']['phptype'] = 'mysql';
$conf['auth']['params']['hostspec'] = 'localhost';
$conf['auth']['params']['username'] = 'hordemgr';
$conf['auth']['params']['password'] = 'xxxxxx';
$conf['auth']['params']['database'] = 'horde';
$conf['auth']['params']['table'] = 'horde_users';

I would appreciate any help
