Rather, I had RFC 2045 in mind. This is about then encoding of
message bodies, while RFC 2047 is about the encoding of header fields.
Sorry for the wrong citation.

Of course, imp has to comply with the whole MIME RFC suite, RFC 2045
through 2049.
