MySQL likely isn't the problem at this point.  (But did you try test.php3
"Click here to test PHPLIB", reload the page several times, and make sure
the counter increments?  That would assure you that MySQL is working.)

That error means it's trying to authenticate against the IMAP server, and
isn't succeeding.  Do your IMAP logs show any login attempts?  Are you
sure the login and password you're trying works (another IMAP client is a
good way to test all that)?

Double-check the defaults.php3 settings for $default->server (should be
your IMAP server host name) and $default->port (should be 143 for IMAP).
