Shared Modem woes (imp)

Hi,

I have a weired problem. I have a windows 2000 network with a machine 
sharing a modem to the rest of the network. The server is on a remote 
server running Linux, Horde and Imp over an ADSL link.

IMP works fine on both machines until you try to send mail from a 
machine not physically containing the modem. In that case the compose 
window will timeout (eventually). This happens if you try to 

Spell check,
Expand Names
Save draft
Send message

This only happens in the compose window, all other applications work 
fine (Kronolith, Chora, Nag, Whups). As far as I can see no Apache or 
horde messages are generated in the logs.

Any ideas?
